Terms Used In Iowa Code > Chapter 148E - Acupuncture
- Acupuncture: means a form of health care developed from traditional and modern oriental medical concepts that employs oriental medical diagnosis and treatment, and adjunctive therapies and diagnostic techniques, for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health and the prevention of disease. See Iowa Code 148E.1
- Acupuncturist: means a person who is engaged in the practice of acupuncture. See Iowa Code 148E.1
- Board: means the board of hearing aid specialists. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- Board: means the board of medicine established in chapter 147. See Iowa Code 148E.1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
- License: means a license issued by the state under this chapter to a hearing aid specialist. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- Person: means a natural person. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- Practice of acupuncture: means the insertion of acupuncture needles and the application of moxibustion to specific areas of the human body based upon oriental medical diagnosis as a primary mode of therapy. See Iowa Code 148E.1
- State: means a state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Iowa Code 152E.3
