Terms Used In Iowa Code > Chapter 306B - Outdoor Advertising Along Interstate Highways
- Advertising device: means any outdoor sign, display, device, figure, painting, drawing, message, placard, poster, billboard, or any other device designed, intended, or used to advertise or inform, for which remuneration is paid or earned in exchange for its erection, display, or existence by any person, and which is visible from the traveled portion of any highway of the interstate system in this state. See Iowa Code 306B.1
- Days: means calendar days. See Iowa Code 322G.2
- Department: means the state department of transportation. See Iowa Code 321H.2
- Department: means the state department of transportation. See Iowa Code 306B.1
- Forbearance: A means of handling a delinquent loan. A
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- highway: means the entire width between property lines of every way or place of whatever nature when any part thereof is open to the use of the public, as a matter of right, for purposes of vehicular travel, except in public areas in which the boundary shall be thirty-three feet each side of the center line of the roadway. See Iowa Code 321I.1
- Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
- Interstate system: means the system of highways as described in 23 U. See Iowa Code 306B.1
- Owner: means a person, other than a lienholder, having the property right in or title to an all-terrain vehicle. See Iowa Code 321I.1
- Person: includes any individual, firm, corporation, partnership, joint adventure, or association, and the plural as well as the singular number. See Iowa Code 321H.2
- Remuneration: means the exchange of anything of value, including but not limited to money, securities, real property interests, personal property interests, goods, services, future consideration, exchange of favor, or forbearance of debt. See Iowa Code 306B.1
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
- United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
