Kansas Statutes 12-4901. Homes for aged; definitions
As used in this act:
(a) “City” means any incorporated city in the state of Kansas;

- City: means any incorporated city in the state of Kansas;
(b) "home for the aged" means a building or buildings and the appurtenances to be used as a home for aged persons, and such other persons as the governing body of the city shall direct and shall include adult care homes;
(c) "adult care home" shall have the meaning ascribed thereto under Kan. See Kansas Statutes 12-4901
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
(b) “home for the aged” means a building or buildings and the appurtenances to be used as a home for aged persons, and such other persons as the governing body of the city shall direct and shall include adult care homes;
(c) “adult care home” shall have the meaning ascribed thereto under Kan. Stat. Ann. § 39-923, and amendments thereto;
(d) “person” means an individual, corporation, association, partnership or any organization.
