Kansas Statutes 19-4469. Definitions
As used in this act, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them herein:
(a) “Agency” means the county law enforcement board and department established under the provisions of this act.

- Agency: means a county law enforcement agency established under the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 19-4425
- Board: means the policy-making governing body of the agency with overall direction and control of law enforcement in any county adopting the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 19-4469
- Department: means a county law enforcement department established under the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 19-4425
- Director: means the superintendent of a county law enforcement department appointed under the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 19-4425
- Law enforcement officer: means a law enforcement officer who is appointed a member of a county law enforcement department under the provisions of this act. See Kansas Statutes 19-4469
(b) “Board” means the policy-making governing body of the agency with overall direction and control of law enforcement in any county adopting the provisions of this act.
(c) “Department” means the county law enforcement organization established under the provisions of this act under the immediate control of the director.
(d) “Director” means the chief law enforcement officer of a county law enforcement department appointed by the board under the provisions of this act.
(e) “Law enforcement officer” means a law enforcement officer who is appointed a member of a county law enforcement department under the provisions of this act.
