Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 44-593

  • Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
  • Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.

Any municipalities, as defined by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-6102, and amendments thereto, who have entered into an agreement to pool their liabilities for Kansas workers compensation benefits and employers’ liability under the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 44-581 et seq., and amendments thereto, prior to January 1, 1987, may seek to reorganize the pooling agreement under Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-2616 et seq., and amendments thereto. All assets, liabilities and the fund balance of each group-funded workers compensation pool shall be transferred to the pool seeking a certificate of authority under Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-2616 et seq., and amendments thereto, upon authorization by the commissioner of insurance.
