- Consumer: means an individual, husband and wife, sole proprietor, or family partnership who seeks or acquires property or services for personal, family, household, business or agricultural purposes. See Kansas Statutes 50-624
(a) Each consumer shall have the option of submitting any dispute arising under this act to arbitration. Upon application of the consumer all manufacturers shall submit to such arbitration.
(b) Such arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the uniform arbitration act, Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 5-423 through 5-453, and amendments thereto. Any agreement to arbitrate entered into under this section shall ensure the personal objectivity of the arbitrators and the right of each party to present its case, to be in attendance during any presentation made by the other party and to rebut or refute such presentation.
