Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 65-2422b

  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
  • Month: means a calendar month, unless otherwise expressed. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • Secretary: means the secretary of health and environment. See Kansas Statutes 65-2401
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Vital statistics: includes the registration, preparation, transcription, collection, compilation, and preservation of data pertaining to birth, adoption, legitimation, death, stillbirth, marriage, divorce, annulment of marriage, induced termination of pregnancy, and data incidental thereto. See Kansas Statutes 65-2401

For each divorce and annulment of marriage granted by any court in this state, a report shall be prepared and filed by the clerk of court with the state registrar of vital statistics. The information necessary to prepare the report shall be furnished to the clerk of the court by the prevailing party or the legal representative of the prevailing party on forms prescribed and furnished by the state registrar of vital statistics. On or before the 15th day of each month, the clerk of the court shall forward to the state registrar of vital statistics the report of each divorce and annulment granted during the preceding calendar month and such related reports as may be required by rules and regulations issued under this act. The information provided shall include the social security numbers of both parties. Information in the report which will assist the secretary for children and families in establishing, modifying or enforcing a support obligation shall be made available to the secretary for children and families or the secretary’s designee.
