Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 72-260
- Bequest: Property gifted by will.
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- State board: means the state board of education created by sections 2 and 3 of article 6 of the constitution and provided for by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 72-244
The state board of education may receive and expend, or supervise the expenditure of, any donation, gift, grant or bequest made to the state board of education for furthering any phase of education.
