(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of the state surplus property act, the superintendent of the Kansas highway patrol may negotiate the sale of retired highway patrol vehicles to political subdivisions of this state or another state under such terms and conditions as may be approved by the superintendent.
(b) All other sales of highway patrol vehicles shall be in accordance with the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-6602, and amendments thereto.
(c) The proceeds from all sales of highway patrol vehicles shall be remitted to the state treasurer in accordance with the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-4215, and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, the state treasurer shall deposit the entire amount in the state treasury to the credit of the Kansas highway patrol motor vehicle fund.
