Kansas Statutes 75-5911. Advisory council on aging; appointment of members
(a) There is hereby created the advisory council on aging. The council shall consist of 15 members. Eleven members shall be appointed by the governor, one member shall be appointed by the president of the senate from among the members of the senate, one member shall be appointed by the minority leader of the senate from among the members of the senate, one member shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives from among the members of the house of representatives and one member shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house of representatives from among the members of the house of representatives. Members of the council shall represent insofar as possible different geographical, social and ethnic groups, and one member of the council, at the time of appointment, shall be licensed by the state and be actively engaged in the administration of adult care homes within the state. At least 1/2 of the council members shall be 60 years of age or older.
(b) No provision of this section shall affect the term of any member of the advisory council on aging appointed prior to the effective date of this act.
