- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Notwithstanding the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 8-1558, and amendments thereto, the Kansas turnpike authority, as defined in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 68-2001, and amendments thereto, by resolution, may fix maximum and minimum speed limits for vehicles upon a highway or any part thereof under the authority’s jurisdiction, which speed limits shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon such highway or any part thereof.
