Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 84-2-103
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Seller: means a person who sells or contracts to sell goods. See Kansas Statutes 84-2-103
(1) In this article unless the context otherwise requires:
(a) “Buyer” means a person who buys or contracts to buy goods.
(b) Reserved.
(c) “Receipt” of goods means taking physical possession of them.
(d) “Seller” means a person who sells or contracts to sell goods.
(2) Other definitions applying to this article or to specified parts thereof, and the sections in which they appear are:
“Acceptance.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-606, and amendments thereto.
“Banker’s credit.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-325, and amendments thereto.
“Between merchants.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-104, and amendments thereto.
“Cancellation.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106(4), and amendments thereto.
“Commercial unit.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-105, and amendments thereto.
“Confirmed credit.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-325, and amendments thereto.
“Conforming to contract.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106, and amendments thereto.
“Contract for sale.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106, and amendments thereto.
“Cover.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-712, and amendments thereto.
“Entrusting.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-403, and amendments thereto.
“Financing agency.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-104, and amendments thereto.
“Future goods.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-105, and amendments thereto.
“Goods.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-105, and amendments thereto.
“Identification.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-501, and amendments thereto.
“Installment contract.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-612, and amendments thereto.
“Letter of credit.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-325, and amendments thereto.
“Lot.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-105, and amendments thereto.
“Merchant.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-104, and amendments thereto.
“Overseas.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-323, and amendments thereto.
“Person in position of seller.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-707, and amendments thereto.
“Present sale.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106, and amendments thereto.
“Sale.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106, and amendments thereto.
“Sale on approval.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-326, and amendments thereto.
“Sale or return.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-326, and amendments thereto.
“Termination.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-2-106, and amendments thereto.
(3) “Control” as provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. 2023 Supp. 84-7-106, and amendments thereto, and the following definitions in other articles apply to this article:
“Check.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-3-104, and amendments thereto.
“Consignee.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-7-102, and amendments thereto.
“Consignor.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-7-102, and amendments thereto.
“Consumer goods.” Kan. Stat. Ann. 2023 Supp. 84-9-102, and amendments thereto.
“Dishonor.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-3-502, and amendments thereto.
“Draft.” Kan. Stat. Ann. § 84-3-104, and amendments thereto.
