- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Boiler: means a closed vessel in which water or other liquid is heated, steam or vapor is generated or steam is superheated, or in which any combination of these functions is accomplished, under pressure or vacuum, for use internal or external to itself, by the direct application of energy from the combustion of fuels or of electric or solar power. - Certificate inspection: means an inspection, the report of which is used by the chief inspector to determine whether or not an inspection certificate shall be issued as provided by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 44-914
- Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Grace period: The number of days you'll have to pay your bill for purchases in full without triggering a finance charge. Source: Federal Reserve
- Heating boiler: means a steam or vapor boiler operating at pressures not exceeding 15 pounds per square inch gauge or a hot water heating boiler operating at pressures not exceeding 160 pounds per square inch gauge or temperatures not exceeding 250° Fahrenheit. See Kansas Statutes 44-914
- Inspection fee: means any inspection fees collected pursuant to subsection (a) of Kan. See Kansas Statutes 44-914
- Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Pressure vessel: means a vessel or container used for the containment of pressure either internal or external in which the pressure is obtained from an external source of vapor, liquid or gas. See Kansas Statutes 44-914
- Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
