As used in KRS § 217.920 to KRS § 217.928, unless the context requires otherwise: (1) “Cabinet” means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services;
(2) “Tanning device” means any equipment that emits radiation used for tanning of the skin, such as a sun lamp, tanning booth, or tanning bed, and includes any accompanying equipment, such as protective eyewear, timers, and handrails; and
(3) “Tanning facility” means any place where a tanning device is used for a fee, membership dues, or other compensation.

- Device: means any instrument or contrivance other than a firearm which is intended for trapping, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest or any other form of plant or animal life other than man and other bacteria, virus, or other microorganisms on or in living man or other living animals. See Kentucky Statutes 217.544
(3) “Tanning facility” means any place where a tanning device is used for a fee, membership dues, or other compensation.
