Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Board: means the Oyster Lease Damage Evaluation Board. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Department: means the Department of Energy and Natural Resources. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Mineral activity: means exploration (including all seismic operations), production, transportation (of equipment or product), and any other activity associated with the production of oil and gas. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Owner: means an owner or operator of a mineral activity. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Secretary: means the secretary of the Department of Energy and Natural Resources or his designee. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
As used in this Part, unless the context requires otherwise, the terms set forth below shall have the following meanings:
(1) “Biological test data” means surveys of oyster beds and grounds by a certified biologist to determine the quality, condition, and value of oyster beds and grounds.
(2) “Board” means the Oyster Lease Damage Evaluation Board.
(3) “Department” means the Department of Energy and Natural Resources.
(4) “Leaseholder” means an owner of an oyster lease granted by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
(5) “Mineral activity” means exploration (including all seismic operations), production, transportation (of equipment or product), and any other activity associated with the production of oil and gas.
(6) “Owner” means an owner or operator of a mineral activity.
(7) “Secretary” means the secretary of the Department of Energy and Natural Resources or his designee.
