Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:711

  • Association: means a savings association, thrift institution, homestead, building and loan association, savings and loan association, or society, including both capital stock and mutual associations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:703
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of financial institutions, of the state of Louisiana, in his capacity as supervisor of associations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:703

Within thirty days after the corporate existence of an association begins, the directors of the association shall hold an organization meeting and shall elect officers, and adopt bylaws.  At the organization meeting the directors shall take such other action as is appropriate with the beginning of the transaction of business by the association.  The commissioner may extend by order the time within which the organization meeting shall be held.
