Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:1652

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Any parish treasurer neglecting or refusing to comply with La. Rev. Stat. 33:1651 shall be subject to pay a fine of not less than one hundred dollars, nor more than three hundred dollars, recoverable before any court of competent jurisdiction, at the discretion of the court, to be added to the school fund of the parish.
