- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
The surety bond provided for in La. Rev. Stat. 35:194 shall not be recorded in the mortgage records of the clerks of court and ex-officio recorders of mortgages and shall not in any event be an encumbrance against the property of any notary making and executing such bond.
