Each parish governing authority is authorized to designate parish public roadways, as defined in La. Rev. Stat. 48:753(F), intersecting a railroad right of way as public crossings. Upon a formal designation as a public crossing, the parish public roadways and public crossings may be eligible for the same safety and crossings improvements as are other public crossings.
