Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 11054

  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Education or the commissioner's designee. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 1
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
The board on the part of the State shall obtain accurate accounts of all the board’s receipts and disbursements and shall report to the Governor and the Commissioner of Administrative and Financial Services annually on or before the 15th day of September, setting forth in such detail as the commissioner may require the transactions of the board for the fiscal year ending on the preceding June 30th. They shall include in such report recommendations for any legislation as may be necessary or desirable to carry out the intent and purposes of the New England Higher Education Compact among the states joining.
