- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.

Partner: means a limited partner or general partner. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302 Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses. Partnership agreement: means the partners' agreement, whether oral, implied, in a record or in any combination, concerning the limited partnership. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302 Person: means an individual; corporation; business trust; estate; trust; partnership; limited liability company; association; joint venture; government; governmental subdivision, agency or instrumentality; public corporation; or any other legal or commercial entity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302 Principal office: means the office where the principal executive office of a limited partnership or foreign limited partnership is located, whether or not the office is located in this State. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302 State: means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302 Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident. Transferee: means a person to which all or part of a transferable interest has been transferred, whether or not the transferor is a partner. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 31 Sec. 1302
