- Adult: means a person who has attained the age of 18 years. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization

Conviction: means a finding by a court that an individual is guilty of a criminal offense through adjudication or entry of a plea of guilty or no contest to the charge by the offender. Federal Government: means the United States of America or any agency or instrumentality, corporate or otherwise, of the United States of America. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001 Fentanyl powder: means any compound, mixture or preparation, in granular or powder form, containing fentanyl or any derivative of fentanyl listed in section 1102, subsection 1, paragraph I in any quantity. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 17-A Sec. 1101 Gambling device: means any device, machine, paraphernalia or equipment that is used or usable in the playing phases of any gambling activity, whether that activity consists of gambling between persons or gambling by a person involving the playing of a machine.
