Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 1217
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Department: means the Department of Public Safety. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 1202
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Mobile operator: means a mobile sports wagering licensee under subsection 7, paragraph B. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 1202
- Operator: includes a facility operator and a mobile operator. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 1202
- Sports wagering: means the business of accepting wagers on sports events or portions of sports events, the individual performance statistics of athletes in a sports event or a combination of any of the same by any system or method of wagering approved by the director, including, but not limited to, in person on the property of a facility operator or via a mobile operator's mobile applications and digital platforms that use communications technology to accept wagers. - United States: includes territories and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
- Wager: means a sum of money or thing of value risked on an uncertain occurrence. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 1202
