Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 223-A
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Public Safety or a designee. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 221-A
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Department: means the Department of Public Safety. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 221-A
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Fire safety official: means a state or municipal official who has authority to enforce life and fire safety laws, statutes, ordinances, rules or regulations. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 8 Sec. 221-A
