- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The state soil conservation committee created under Act No. 297 of the Public Acts of 1937, as amended, being section 282.1 to 282.16 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, is transferred by a type II transfer to the department of agriculture.
