- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. The central records division of the department of state police shall install and maintain a filing system for the purpose of recording and preserving the various impressions received by it by virtue of the terms of this act, the filing system to be distinguished from the system now employed by the division for the recording and preserving of fingerprints of criminals. The equipment and supplies for the proper carrying out of this act shall be furnished by the department of state police.
