Terms Used In Michigan Laws 288.716
- Butter: means the product usually known as butter that is made exclusively from wholesome milk or cream, or both, with or without common salt, and with or without additional coloring matter and containing not less than 80% by weight of milk fat. See Michigan Laws 288.571
- Cream: means any of the following:
(i) Light cream containing not less than 18% but not more than 30% milkfat. See Michigan Laws 288.571Person: means an individual, partnership, company, limited liability company, cooperative, association, firm, trustee, educational institution, state or local government unit, or corporation. See Michigan Laws 288.576
A person shall not sell, offer for sale or expose for sale, or have in possession with intent to sell any butter that does not conform to this act and shall not sell to the consumer any butter that has not been churned from wholesome cream and properly labeled.
