(1) Only a grader approved by the department shall grade butter.
(2) Standards for grading are those described in 7 C.F.R. § 58.
Terms Used In Michigan Laws 288.717
- Butter: means the product usually known as butter that is made exclusively from wholesome milk or cream, or both, with or without common salt, and with or without additional coloring matter and containing not less than 80% by weight of milk fat. See Michigan Laws 288.571
- Department: means the Michigan department of agriculture. See Michigan Laws 288.572
(3) As used in this section, “grade” means the classification of butter by its examination for flavor, aroma, body and texture, color, salt, package, and such other factors as may be approved by the department.
