Terms Used In Michigan Laws 324.5706
- Commission: means the commission of natural resources. See Michigan Laws 324.301
- Department: means the director of the department of natural resources or his or her designee to whom the director delegates a power or duty by written instrument. See Michigan Laws 324.301
- Freedom of Information Act: A federal law that mandates that all the records created and kept by federal agencies in the executive branch of government must be open for public inspection and copying. Upon request, the ombudsman shall be given access to all information, records, and documents in the possession of the commission and the department that the ombudsman considers necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the office other than information described in section 13 of the freedom of information act, Act No. 442 of the Public Acts of 1976, being section 15.243 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. The commission and the department shall also assist the ombudsman in fulfilling his or her responsibilities under this part.
