As used in this act:
(a) “Article” means any clothing, garment, wearing apparel, leather garment, fur coat or garment, curtain, drapery, rug, carpet, or household furnishing.

- Article: means any clothing, garment, wearing apparel, leather garment, fur coat or garment, curtain, drapery, rug, carpet, or household furnishing. See Michigan Laws 445.1751
- Business: means an individual, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity which, for compensation, provides cleaning or repair services. See Michigan Laws 445.1751
- Cleaning or repair services: means 1 or more of the following services in relation to an article:
(i) Dry cleaning. See Michigan Laws 445.1751Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name. Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses. person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. (b) “Business” means an individual, partnership, corporation, or other legal entity which, for compensation, provides cleaning or repair services.
(c) “Cleaning or repair services” means 1 or more of the following services in relation to an article:
(i) Dry cleaning.
(ii) Dyeing.
(iii) Pressing.
(iv) Laundering.
(v) Alterations.
(vi) Fabric repair.
(d) “Storage” means the keeping of an article by a business, at the request of the person leaving the article, for a period of time as specified in a receipt or other written document.
