- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- College level equivalent credit examination: means an examination that is administered by an independent testing service and that is used by colleges and universities generally to award postsecondary credit for achievement of a particular score, and includes, but is not limited to, advanced placement examinations, the DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST), and college-level examination program (CLEP) examinations.
