Terms Used In Missouri Laws 411.110
- Director: the director of the Missouri department of agriculture or his designated representative. See Missouri Laws 411.026
- Grain: all grains for which standards have been established under the United States Grain Standards Act (Sections 71 to 87 of Title 7, United States Code), and any other agricultural commodities, seeds and vegetable oils prescribed by the director by regulation, except the term "grain" shall not include those commodities deemed not to be grain pursuant to section 411. - Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
When requested, it shall be the duty of grain weighmasters appointed by the director, under the provisions of this chapter, to weigh or to supervise the actual weighing and certification of weights of all grain as provided for in this chapter, and the certificate of weight issued or caused to be issued by such weighmasters in the discharge of their duties shall be the basis of settlement between the buyer and seller. Such weighmasters shall have the entire control, subject to the supervision of the director, of the scales under their supervision.
