1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, association or corporation required by sections 415.010 to 415.050 to be licensed to hold himself, themselves, or itself out as a public warehouseman or warehousemen, or advertise for, or solicit business as a warehouseman without first complying with the provisions of sections 415.010 to 415.050; or to use the word “storage” in any way in connection with the business unless engaged in the storage business and licensed as a warehouse as provided by sections 415.010 to 415.050.

2. The provisions of sections 415.010 to 415.050 shall not apply to self-service storage facilities governed by sections 415.400 to 415.430.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
