The commission, its members, the executive director and all other commission employees shall not, for themselves, accept, receive or charge any money, article or thing of value for the performance of any service rendered to veterans, their dependents or legal representatives, at any time or in any manner. Any person who violates this section is guilty of a class A misdemeanor.
