3-1-1501. Definitions. As used in this part, the following definitions apply:
Terms Used In Montana Code 3-1-1501
- Commission: means the commission on courts of limited jurisdiction established by the supreme court. See Montana Code 3-1-1501
- Judge: means :
(a)a municipal court judge;
(b)a justice of the peace; or
(c)a city judge. See Montana Code 3-1-1501
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
(1)”Commission” means the commission on courts of limited jurisdiction established by the supreme court.
(2)”Judge” means:
(a)a municipal court judge;
(b)a justice of the peace; or
(c)a city judge.
