69-14-601. Definition of railroad company. The words “railroad company”, as used in 69-14-601 through 69-14-611, shall be taken and construed to mean any corporation, person, or association of persons owning or operating a railroad.
Terms Used In Montana Code 69-14-601
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
- railroad: means a corporation, company, or individual owning or operating a railroad in whole or in part in this state. See Montana Code 69-14-102
