Terms Used In Montana Code 7-3-414

  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.

(1)elected by the members of the commission from their own number for a term established by ordinance;

(2)selected as provided by ordinance; or

(3)elected directly by the voters for a term established by ordinance.
