71-3-119. Lien accessory to performance. A lien is to be accessory to the act for the performance of which it is a security, whether any person is bound for such performance or not, and is extinguishable in like manner with any other accessory obligation.

  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
