- Crane: means a machine with a hoisting mechanism that is integral to the machine and that is used for lifting and lowering a load and for moving it horizontally. See Montana Code 50-76-111
- Department: means the department of labor and industry provided for in 2-15-1701. See Montana Code 50-76-111
- Hoist: means a power-driven apparatus capable of lifting and lowering loads and not designed to facilitate horizontal movements. See Montana Code 50-76-111
- Knowingly: means only a knowledge that the facts exist which bring the act or omission within the provisions of this code. See Montana Code 1-1-204
- Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
