(1) Any person who operates or parks a motor vehicle or who tows or parks a trailer on any highway, which motor vehicle or trailer has not been registered as required by section 60-362, shall be subject to the penalty provided in section 60-3,170.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 60-3,164

  • Highway: means the entire width between the boundary limits of any street, road, avenue, boulevard, or way which is publicly maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel. See Nebraska Statutes 60-332
  • Motor vehicle: means any vehicle propelled by any power other than muscular power. See Nebraska Statutes 60-339
  • Person: shall include bodies politic and corporate, societies, communities, the public generally, individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, joint-stock companies, and associations. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
  • State: when applied to different states of the United States shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories organized by Congress. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
  • Trailer: means any device without motive power designed for carrying persons or property and being towed by a motor vehicle and so constructed that no part of its weight rests upon the towing vehicle. See Nebraska Statutes 60-354

(2) A person who parks a motor vehicle or tows a trailer on any highway, which motor vehicle or trailer has been properly registered in this state but such registration has expired, shall not be in violation of this section or section 60-362 or subject to the penalty provided in section 60-3,170, unless thirty days have passed from the expiration of the prior registration.
