(1) Qualifying nonprofit organization, for the purpose of special event bingo, shall mean a nonprofit organization:

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 9-217.01

  • Bingo: shall mean that form of gambling in which:

    (a) The winning numbers are determined by random selection from a pool of seventy-five or ninety numbered designators. See Nebraska Statutes 9-204

  • License: shall mean any license to conduct bingo as provided in section Nebraska Statutes 9-212
  • Permit: shall mean a special event bingo permit as provided in section Nebraska Statutes 9-215.01
  • Qualifying nonprofit organization shall not mean or: include any organization which holds a license pursuant to the Nebraska Bingo Act. See Nebraska Statutes 9-217.01
  • Special event bingo: shall mean the conduct of bingo as provided in section Nebraska Statutes 9-224
  • State: when applied to different states of the United States shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories organized by Congress. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801

(a) Which holds a certificate of exemption under section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code or the major activities of which, exclusive of conducting gaming activities regulated under Chapter 9, are conducted for charitable or community betterment purposes; and

(b) Which has been in existence in this state for a period of at least five years immediately preceding its application for a permit.

(2) Qualifying nonprofit organization shall not mean or include any organization which holds a license pursuant to the Nebraska Bingo Act.
