Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 511-A:6
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.

From and after service of the notice provided by N.H. Rev. Stat. § 511-A:2 and until the entry of an order by the court as provided by N.H. Rev. Stat. § 511-A:4, the defendant shall be deemed to be a person about to incur debts within the meaning of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 545:6 and the plaintiff shall be deemed to be a creditor whose claim has not matured, within the meaning of N.H. Rev. Stat. § 545:10. In any proceeding brought by the plaintiff under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 545:10, the burden shall be upon the defendant to show that any conveyance made or obligation incurred by him during this period was not made to hinder or impede collection of any judgment.
