Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 511:38

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
Property attached shall be deemed to remain in the custody of the officer, so far as to be liable to attachment in the same manner it would have been if it had remained in his hands specifically, notwithstanding it may have been sold, restored to the debtor, or taken from the officer by writ of replevin.
