Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 30:4D-17a
- Department: means the Department of Human Services. See New Jersey Statutes 30:1-1
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
3. In addition to any other action authorized or required by law, the Attorney General shall refer any matter regarding a person who is licensed or otherwise authorized to practice a health care profession in this State pursuant to Title 45 or Title 52 of the Revised Statutes and has been convicted of an offense under the provisions of section 17 of P.L.1968, c.413 (C. 30:4D-17), to the appropriate professional and occupational licensing board within the Division of Consumer Affairs in the Department of Law and Public Safety or the Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs, as applicable, for such action as they determine appropriate regarding that person’s license or other authorization to practice as a health care professional.
