- collector: when used in relation to the collection of taxes or water rents or other public assessments, includes all officers charged with the duty of collecting such taxes, water rents or assessments, unless a particular officer is specified. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
A record to the effect that the land is subject to the lien of a deferred local improvement assessment shall be filed and maintained in the office of the tax collector or other officer responsible for maintenance of the record of municipal liens.
