If any owners of lands, or lessees thereof, shall attempt to abandon their co-laborers without complying with sections 5763 to 5765 N.M. Stat. Ann. § 73-2-35 to 73-2-37, they shall pay for each of such offenses a fine of not less than five dollars [($5.00)] nor exceeding ten dollars [($10.00)].
