Any person who violates any provision of this act N.M. Stat. Ann. § 76-16-1 to 76-16-9 or lawful rule or regulation made pursuant hereto, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars [($500)] or be imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
