When the Governor finds that an emergency, as that term is defined in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 166A-19.3, exists anywhere in this State, the Governor may

(1) Order the closing of all ABC stores; and

Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 18B-110

  • Commission: means the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission established under N. See North Carolina General Statutes 18B-101
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

(2) Order the cessation of all sales, transportation, manufacture, and bottling of alcoholic beverages.

The Governor’s order shall apply in those portions of the State designated in the order, for the duration of the state of emergency. Any order by the Governor under this section shall be directed to the Chairman of the Commission and to the Secretary of Public Safety.
