- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (a) The Secretary of State may suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a registration for conduct that would have justified denial of registration under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 78C-90(b).
(b) The Secretary of State may deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a certificate of registration or licensure only after proper notice and an opportunity for a hearing in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act pursuant to Article 3 of Chapter 150B of the N.C. Gen. Stat.. (2003-375, s. 2.)
