- Self-insurer: means an individual self-insurer as defined by N. See North Carolina General Statutes 97-165
(a) A self-insurer shall not utilize any claims adjuster unless the adjuster is licensed under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 58-33-26.
(b) Every self-insurer shall comply with the provisions of Article 47 of Chapter 58 of the N.C. Gen. Stat. that are related to claims administration. (1997-362, s. 4; 2015-264, s. 53.)
